Dr. Coppel has a special interest in preventive care, dermatology, endocrinology, dentistry and end of life/hospice care.
Dr. Coppel and her husband, Michael, married in October 2015. They have three beautiful daughters – Amelia, Isabelle, and Elaina – and a wonderful son named William. They also share their home with a golden labrador named Aiden, a fluffy Shih Tzu mix named Gunny, and one frisky feline named Toulouse. Dr. Gabriela Durig was born and raised in Southern California. After earning her B.S. from the University of California, Davis, she went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from The Ohio State University in 2015.
Following graduation, Dr. Durig moved to Arizona, where she completed an emergency-focused internship and gained extensive experience working in a high-volume urgent care and general practice setting. In 2021, she returned to the Buckeye State to be closer to family and continue her veterinary journey.
Dr. Durig chose to transition from emergency medicine to general practice, enjoying the continuity of care and the long-term relationships she’s able to build with clients and their pets. She is thrilled to be joining the Galena Vet Care team and serving the community she now calls home.
While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Durig has special interests in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency care. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, exercising, cooking and gardening.
Ashley is originally from a small farming community in Northwest Ohio. She moved to Columbus in 2005 and attended Columbus State Community College, where she graduated with her Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. She became a Registered Veterinary Technician in March 2008.
Ashley and her husband, Brad, married in May 2011. They currently reside in Westerville with their beautiful, compassionate daughter Ava and a silly, red-headed son Luke. They also have a Rat Terrier-Beagle mix furry child named Izzy. Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks, water skiing and tubing, and participating in the Walking With Purpose Bible study through the church she attends. Even as a small child, she always had a love of animals and is thankful she is able to show that love through the care she provides as a Veterinary Technician.
Bri is a proud Columbus native who has called the area home her entire life. She grew up in Westerville and always knew she wanted to work with animals. After high school, she pursued her passion by attending Bradford School for Veterinary Technology, earning her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician in March 2014. Since then, she has loved every moment of her career in veterinary medicine.
Bri has a special interest in all aspects of animal care, but her favorite part of the job is performing dental cleanings—helping pets feel their best with healthy, clean smiles!
At home, Bri shares her life with her husband Jake (married in 2017), their two wonderful children, Gavin and Holly, a cat named Remington, and a rescue dog named Franklin. They currently reside in Delaware, Ohio. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find Bri enjoying the outdoors, spending summer days poolside with her family, or exploring local breweries.
Bri is excited to be part of the team at Galena Veterinary Care, and especially grateful to be working closer to home and family.
Kayla is a local through and through, having grown up in Johnstown. Her passion for animals started early, and she was determined from a young age to turn that love into a career. With over a decade of hands-on experience in the field, Kayla brings both knowledge and compassion to every patient she cares for.
At home, Kayla stays busy with her husband, Mike, and their two energetic daughters, Hadley and Harper. Their household also includes two beloved dogs—Charlie, a spirited Schnoodle, and Bubbles, a lovable Labrador mix. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, and making the most of nature together.
When she’s not working or adventuring with her family, Kayla enjoys gardening and staying involved in her local 4-H club, where she mentors young animal lovers.
Kayla is excited to meet you and your furry family members and looks forward to helping them live happy, healthy lives!
